How it works:
Members of the Savoie Organic Farm CSA program are shareholders in the farm. Members can become shareholders at three different levels (basket sizes): small (1/4 bushel), medium (1/2 bushel) or large (full bushel). You choose what size share you would like to purchase based on the basket size that you feel best suits your weekly vegetable needs. We provide you with the basket at the beginning of the season. Then, you will bring your basket with you each week during the 16 week growing season and fill it with your choice of vegetables from the harvest. Our CSA provides you with the freedom to choose what you would like each week; baskets are not pre-filled for you. There are limits posted for most items, to ensure that everyone in the CSA program gets the opportunity to try each item. This year the program will begin during the week of June 10th and it will end during the week of Sept 23rd. Pick up times are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from either 1 to 3, or 4 to 6 pm. Things to consider before joining a CSA:
As a CSA member, you'll enjoy
the absolute freshest and highest quality certified organic produce available,
as well as the satisfaction of knowing that you are supporting a local,
family-owned and operated farm. However,
there are some things to consider. When you become a CSA member, you purchase a share in our farm. As a shareholder, you will share in the bounty of our harvest throughout the season as well as some of the risk associated with farming. This includes crop losses due to possible weather catastrophes or other unforeseen circumstances. A CSA membership is more than just buying fresh produce. It is joining a family of members who share a common desire to celebrate local, seasonal food. It also provides you with the unique opportunity to see where and how your vegetables are grown. We look forward to seeing you at the farm!
